Terms & Conditions
The terms on which we provide this website and our legal services.
Last updated: 19 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the Raj Law Solicitors website and set out the general terms on which we provide legal services. Specific terms relating to your individual matter will be set out in your client care letter and engagement terms, which prevail over these general terms in the event of any conflict.
1. About us
Raj Law Solicitors is a firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Our principal office is at 169 Tooting High Street, London SW17 0SY. References to "solicitor" mean a person qualified to practise as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
2. Use of this website
The content of this website is provided for general information only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. No solicitor–client relationship is created by your use of this website or by sending us an unsolicited enquiry.
You agree not to use this website in any unlawful way, to introduce malicious code, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it. We may suspend or withdraw the website at any time without notice.
3. Our legal services
When we accept your instructions, we will issue a client care letter confirming the scope of work, the responsible solicitor, our fees, complaints information and your right to cancel where applicable. Our work is governed by the laws of England and Wales and the SRA Standards and Regulations.
4. Fees and payment
- Our fees are calculated on the basis set out in your client care letter (typically hourly rates, fixed fee or, where eligible, legal aid).
- VAT is charged at the prevailing rate where applicable.
- Disbursements (such as court fees, counsel's fees and expert reports) are payable in addition.
- Invoices are payable within the period stated; we reserve the right to charge interest on late payments at the statutory rate and to exercise a lien over papers in our possession.
5. Client identification
We are required by the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 to verify the identity of our clients and, where relevant, the source of funds. We may decline to act or cease acting where satisfactory evidence is not provided.
6. Confidentiality
We owe you a duty of confidentiality. We will only disclose information about your matter to third parties with your consent or where required by law, regulation or court order, including reporting obligations to the National Crime Agency.
7. Limitation of liability
Our liability to you for any loss arising from negligence, breach of contract or otherwise in connection with our services is limited to the amount of our professional indemnity insurance cover, currently a minimum of £3 million per claim as required by the SRA. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Termination
You may end your retainer with us at any time in writing. We may cease acting for good reason and on reasonable notice — for example, if you fail to pay our invoices or provide instructions. You remain liable for fees and disbursements incurred up to the date of termination.
9. Complaints
We aim to provide a high standard of service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work or our bill, please contact the supervising partner. A copy of our full complaints procedure is available on request. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may be entitled to refer it to the Legal Ombudsman (legalombudsman.org.uk) within six months of our final response, and ordinarily within one year of the act complained of. Concerns about our professional conduct may be reported to the SRA.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos and images, is owned by Raj Law Solicitors or its licensors and is protected by copyright. You may view and print pages for personal, non‑commercial use only.
11. Governing law
These terms and any engagement with us are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
