We may share personal data with barristers, courts, tribunals, experts, translators, the Legal Aid Agency, other parties' legal representatives, regulators (including the SRA), HMRC, the National Crime Agency, our auditors, insurers and approved IT and storage providers — only where necessary for your matter or required by law.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent adequacy decisions.

7. How long we keep your data

We typically retain client files for a minimum of six years following the conclusion of your matter, and longer where required by law, our insurers, or SRA guidance (for example, wills, probate and conveyancing files may be retained for substantially longer). Files are then securely destroyed.

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure, including encrypted email where appropriate, restricted access controls and secure document storage.
